Advanced Programs
For all who have completed MTI's Mediator Certification Course (Level 1)
MTI collaborates with the PULSE Institute in offering mediation and conflict management training beyond MTI's Mediator Certification Course. We recommend the following PULSE courses for graduates of that course.
These courses are conducted by PULSE President Nancy Love and PULSE Associate Marjorie Munroe.
Send email for more information, including dates, regarding the PULSE offerings listed below:
PULSE Pre-Meeting
The Pre-Meeting is a critical component in preparing parties for a successful mediation. Now a webinar is
available for graduates of Mediation Certification Training with Dr. Nancy Love. Join Dr. Love online and
via conference call to learn more about the concepts and thinking behind the Pre-Meeting. Gain insight
into the practical application of Appreciative Inquiry in the pre-meeting process. Gain an introduction to
the Pre-Meeting checklist and script, and a demonstration of the full Pre-Meeting Conversation in a role
play by telephone. Practice your listening skills on the telephone. A student workbook, complete with the
slides from the presentation, and the Pre-Meeting checklist and script will be provided.
PULSE Enneagram
The value of knowing the Enneagram is that it allows you to begin to value what you are not. It teaches you empathy. Seeing the world from the perspective of someone whose basic motivation is different than yours can be very liberating. This is the kind of insight that changes the world...one conversation at a time. — Dr. Nancy Love
The Enneagram personality typing instrument is simple yet complex, like the PULSE Frame. Through this
powerful tool participants will enhance understanding of their own behaviour in growth and under stress.
Participants will:
Prepare by exploring the theory behind the PULSE Enneagram
Uncover their Enneatype and new perspectives and skills to apply to PULSE Conversations
Learn the Content, Process and Response motivations of each Enneagram type and triad
in conflict.
PULSE Professional Certification (Train-the-Trainer)
The first step to becoming a PULSE Professional is by attending a PULSE retreat. This training opportunity
is offered to those who have taken basic PULSE 40 hour Mediation Certification training (PULSE Concepts
and PULSE Practice). The program prepares coaches, trainers, organizational effectiveness consultants or
anyone in a position of developing others, in the PULSE Learning Conversation. Upon completion of this
powerful learning experience, you will be equipped with the ability to:
Integrate the PULSE way of teaching and thinking — Prepare, Uncover, Learn, Search, and
Explain — into your own or your organization's programs.
Apply the PULSE frame to any training and/or other responsibilities you carry out in your
organizational situation.
Deliver and facilitate PULSE programs internally or externally to your own organization by
acquiring a PULSE license.
