Ayumi Nishikawa worked for Motorola Japan for 13 years as HR manager and Product and Service quality manager. The following summarize her accomplishments throughout her career at Motorola:

  • As a 6 sigma trainer, she taught 6 steps to 6 Sigma, Mapping, Problem Solving. QC 7 tools, New QC 7 tools for over 350 employees.
  • As a quality manager, she led the sales and service function to improve “order to ship” cycle time by facilitating the process mapping.
  • As a HR manager, she introduced various new services and programs into Japan operation. EAP (Employee Assistance Program), Career Design Program (Career Counseling), Work Life Balance program, Performance Management, HR Scorecard, and Diversity program.
  • As a role model for female managers, she led female high potential workforces to put them on Fast Track programs and successfully supported them in the advancement of their careers to managerial position within the corporate setting.

She served as the sexual harassment prevention consultant to support the organization’s mission to process issues at the right speed while achieving effective solutions while also supporting the victim’s feeling.

As an instructor, consultant, mediator and facilitator, Ayumi has worked with vast variety of corporations, including telecommunication, government institutes, broadcasting corporation, banking and securities and etc.

J.EAP was established in September 2002 as an EAP service provider. Mediation Skill training was introduced to the Japan market for the first time through J.EAP in 2002. Additionally, she designed the very first Conflict resolution workshop in Japanese. Goals include rolling out conflict resolution workshops nation wide by the end of 2003.

Her research focus is Diversity in workplace. She provides consulting services to corporations to institutionalize harassment prevention process. She is a pioneer of Sexual Harassment Prevention training in Japan. She is a frequent speaker of Harassment Prevention in workplace at various academic and community fields.

Her creativity has lead to the development of Mediation Dojo in Japan and 6 sigma SHP (Sexual harassment prevention) steps. Mediation Dojo is a medium the practice of mediation role plays can be achieved to enhance mediation skills. 6 Sigma SHP process is a service product J.EAP provides to their customers when critical SHP issues surface in workplace.

She is a member of Japan Society of Human Resource Management and Japan Association of Organizational Psychology.

Ayumi is working on her Masters Degree in HRM through the University of the Air, Japan. She presently holds a BA Degree in English and American Literature from Aoyama Gakuin University, Tokyo, Japan. She loves to watch Star Trek movies and TV series. Live Long and Prosper!
