The Mediator Certification Course held aboard the Mediation-at-Sea cruise is the same program as those offered at land-based venues in the United States and abroad. This is believed to be the first time that a full 40-hour, 5-day mediator certification program has been offered at sea.

Although the course is designed primarily for workplace application, participants will acquire professional skills that may be applied more broadly, including commercial, community, judicial, environmental, and other disputes.

The course will be conducted by MTI's Senior Mediation Instructor Nancy Love, PhD. Dr Love may be assisted by Dan Dana as a Mediation Coach.
