Tom has mediated cases in Michigan and Oregon while working as an HR Director in manufacturing and healthcare. He also held leadership positions in the Navy, education, and with a Fortune 500 company and has honed his skills across a broad range of employee groups.

He is a graduate of Penn State University (B.S.), Grand Valley State University (M.Ed.), and attended executive training courses at the University of Michigan, Cornell University and Harvard Business School.

He was on the adjunct faculty of Davenport University and Cornerstone University (Grand Rapids, Michigan) and currently is an adjunct faculty member at George Fox University (Newberg, Oregon.)

In 2004 he published his first book, Dare to Lead: Leading with Respect, Sincerity and Service.

Tom and his wife Aleene live in the Willamette Valley of Oregon near their grandchildren.
