The Certification Conference held aboard the Mediation-at-Sea cruise is the same program as those offered at land-based venues throughout the United States and abroad. Conferences are designed to enable participants to perform, to coach, and to train others to perform the core competencies for managing workplace conflict: Managerial Mediation and Self Mediation.

Any one of three conference registration options may be selected, tailored for managers, professionals, and trainers. Those who select the Train-the-Trainer (Track 1) option become members of MTI's global network of Certified Trainers.

The conference consists of three half-day modules. Modules 1 and 2 comprise the Self-as-Mediator Seminar. Modules 1 and 3 comprise the Manager-as-Mediator Seminar.
