- Baskerville, Dawn M. (May 1993). How do you manage conflict? Black Enterprise.
This article provides managers with the "Conflict Styles Questionnaire" by Bil and Cher Holton (1992) to assess how they handle conflict. Five styles are described, each suitable for different personalities and situations. Once a manager learns his style, it should be tested for employee response and may need to be altered depending on the situation and reaction.
- Tidd, S. T. & Friedman, R. A. (2002). Conflict Style and Coping With Role Conflict: An extension of the uncertainty model of work stress. International Journal of Conflict Management, Vol. 13, p236
This article explores the relationship between work place uncertainty, role conflict and employees' approach to conflict management. Uncertainty was revealed to be one of the most common causes of conflict and job stress. The study showed that employees who have a proactive approach to conflict management could deal better with high role conflict or uncertainty in their jobs.
