He is also an adjunct faculty member and teaches undergraduate and graduate courses in conflict management, leadership, employee relations, managerial coaching, and employment law.
He is a registered civil mediator in Indiana and an instructor for a 40-hour mediation training course that certifies lawyers to mediate disputes within the state's legal system. He also develops and facilitates intensive training courses for employers and managers on peer mediation, negotiations, workplace civility, and supervision.
In addition to work within the university, Dan provides training and consultation to other organizations, including non-profits, government agencies, colleges and universities, and health institutions. He also presents workshops on workplace civility, diversity, conflict management, and related topics at state, regional and national conferences.
Dan is a licensed attorney in Indiana and earned a J.D. degree from Indiana University School of Law-Indianapolis. He previously worked as an attorney in the state's civil rights and transportation agencies where he focused on employment discrimination and employee grievance and discipline issues.
