Implementation Strategies for Internal Employee Development
Training Managers and others who are responsible for internal staff development have several options to consider:
CBT as a Self-Study Course
-
Employees may be provided the CBT course to use simply as a self-study program. The Training Manager (or other designated company representative) may receive a report of employees' test scores to assess their level of comprehension and to ensure completion of the training by every individual.
CBT with Telephone Coaching
-
Coaching of learners who have completed the CD-based learning modules may be structured in various ways, including:
~ One 30-minute session per individual learner
~ Three 30-minute sessions per individual learner to provide support for application and evaluation of skills
~ One or more group coaching sessions to reinforce learnings, ensure acquisition of subject matter knowledge, and prepare individual action plans
~ Other custom-designed coaching support of effective learning and application
CBT with Internal Facilitation
-
MTI provides at no additional cost a facilitator guide and other resources to enable your organization's internal facilitator(s) to conduct two-hour role-play and skill-development sessions after employees complete the CBT self-study course on CD. Live hands-on customized skill-practice with an accomplished coach is an important part of acquisition of practical competencies. This offer applies to orders of ten or more units.
CBT with External Facilitation
-
Certified Trainers of Managing Workplace Conflict, each one a qualified classroom instructor of the Managing Differences Seminars, are prepared to facilitate on-site skill-development sessions if company personnel are not available.
CBT with Classroom Training
-
First, employees complete Module 1: Necessary Knowledge of the CBT as a self-study course on CD, including testing. This is followed by classroom delivery of Module 2: Successful Conflict Conversations for all employees, and Module 3: Third-Party Resolutions for managers, supervisors, and other leaders by an external Certified Trainer. The second and third modules of the CBT course can then be used for reinforcement of learning, testing to ensure full acquisition of competencies, and other purposes.
For best results, one or more qualified internal HRD professionals may become Certified Trainers by attending an open-enrollment Certification Conference in Managing Workplace Conflict. Alternatively, a customized in-house Train-the-Trainer program can be held on-site. Economical Online Trainer Certification is also available, not requiring travel.
To discuss these options, or to devise new ones, call 913-432-2888 or toll-free 800-DR CONFLICT (372-6635). Our goal is to help members of your organization gain the core competencies for managing workplace as cost-effectively as possible.
