"Conflict Doctor" Dan Dana will present the General Session on June 23 titled "Managing Conflicts on Retreats: Tools and Techniques for Facilitating Positive Outcomes when Disputes Arise During School Board and Administration Retreats." See more information about the NSBA Trainers Conference. This will be a highly engaging and participative "organic" session in which those in attendance will contribute to design of methodologies built on established principles of conflict resolution and set in the context of school board and administration retreats. Each participant will receive resource materials, including a personal copy Managing Differences, the sourcebook for the core seminars of the Mediation Training Institute International. The first half of Dr. Dana's presentation will be adapted from portions of How to Resolve Conflict with Others and How to Mediate Employee Conflict, which teach the core competencies for managing workplace conflict. The second half will be devoted to customized application of these concepts and methods to school board and administration retreats. In advance of the conference, each participant is requested to complete an on-line instrument: The Dana Measure of Financial Cost of Organizational Conflict. Please follow these instructions:
